Bohemians Football Club, based in Dublin 7, has emerged as a notable advocate for climate action through its various projects and initiatives.
Recognising the urgent need to address the climate crisis, the club has taken significant steps to inspire positive environmental change within the community, most notably by appointing a Climate Justice Officer to steer their climate action work.
The club are leading the Football for Climate Justice project which aims to understand whats clubs can do to support communities in the face of climate change. They are also advocating for community-led development through their Spark Project which has brought together 11 partners including Connecting Cabra, Cosybatter, Mountjoy Prison and Technological University Dublin.
Back in March of this year, the club launched The Bohemian Way app which gives people the opportunity to move through Dublin 7 and find out historic facts, stories, songs about the area.
In recent months, Bohs have also teamed up with Dublin Community Supported Agriculture Group to provide a way for communities to support local farmers. Click the button below to find out more about their inspiring work.
Bohs are a member of the UNFCCC Sports for Climate Action Framework, hosted the Bohemian Environmental Justice Film Festival in 2022 and provide free match tickets to fans who cycle to their women’s home matches at Dalymount Park.
